px Americas is a leading provider of commissioning, start-up and operations-readiness services for LNG assets and energy sectors across North America and beyond. As we expand our footprint into the Bahamas we are recruiting for a Technical Assurance Lead.

The Technical Assurance Lead provides dedicated operational assurance support during construction, commissioning, and startup activities as a temporary role established to support safe project execution and transition to steady-state operations.
Acting as the primary interface between Project / CSU teams and the site Operations & Maintenance organization, the role protects plant safety, operational integrity, and defined operating envelopes while supporting safe commissioning, SIMOPS management, system handover, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational assurance and technical interface support during construction, commissioning, startup, and transition to steady-state operations
  • Act as the primary interface between project, commissioning, CSU, and site operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe integration of project activities within the live terminal environment
  • Protect plant safety, operational integrity, and defined operating envelopes during project execution, commissioning, and startup activities
  • Support safe execution of simultaneous operations through effective coordination of permit to work, isolations, interface controls, and operational risk management
  • Ensure operational readiness requirements, procedures, competencies, and technical safeguards are established prior to system handover
  • Support structured transition of systems, responsibilities, and plant ownership from project and commissioning teams into operations
  • Coordinate resolution and escalation of technical, operational, and safety risks arising from project interface activities
  • Maintain visible field presence during critical commissioning, startup, and live plant interface activities
  • Coordinate operational readiness reviews, interface planning, and assurance activities during construction, commissioning, and startup phases
  • Review commissioning procedures, startup plans, operating instructions, and temporary operating arrangements prior to execution
  • Coordinate SIMOPS activities, interface boundaries, live plant interventions, and worksite controls to ensure safe execution of project activities
  • Review isolation strategies, tie-ins, temporary systems, and modification activities affecting operating plant systems
  • Monitor project and commissioning field activities impacting terminal operations, escalating interface risks or operational constraints as required
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams, commissioning personnel, operations, maintenance, and technical stakeholders
  • Support structured system handover, punch list close-out, operational acceptance, and transition into operations ownership
  • Participate in incident investigations, lessons learned reviews, and startup issue resolution activities where required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Engineering or technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in LNG, terminal, oil & gas, petrochemical, or comparable industrial environments, including commissioning, startup, or live plant interface activities.
  • Strong knowledge of Control of Work, SIMOPS, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience working at the project–operations interface during commissioning, startup, or live plant execution activities.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, operating procedures, isolation plans, commissioning documentation, and technical drawings associated with live plant activities.

Desirable

  • LNG import terminal or marine terminal commissioning / startup experience.
  • Experience supporting SIMOPS within live operating facilities.
  • Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Experience supporting brownfield tie-ins, temporary operating arrangements, or live plant modifications.
  • Knowledge of process safety and operational risk management frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating contractor and vendor technical interfaces.

  • Work schedule: Days with flexibility to support project startup and operational support.
  • Travel required for training, audits, and stakeholder meetings as necessary.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the Bahamas or willing to relocate with employer-sponsored permits.
