About the Role:
Everest is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Technical Assistant to join our team in Warren, NJ. In this role, you will provide critical support to Underwriters by assisting with risk analysis, pricing activities, data management, documentation, and portfolio administration. You will work closely with Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, Finance, and Catastrophe Modeling teams to help ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant underwriting operations while gaining valuable exposure to the insurance and reinsurance business.
What You'll Do
Support the underwriting process through risk analysis, portfolio management, business development, and marketing activities.
Partner with underwriters to develop and maintain pricing, accumulation, and underwriting systems.
Assist with deal pricing, structuring, and transaction execution.
Provide underwriting support across accounting, documentation, reporting, and data management activities.
Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Claims, Catastrophe Modeling, Actuarial, and Contract Wording teams.
Ensure accurate and timely entry of submissions, quotes, endorsements, risks, and transactions into underwriting systems.
Perform data quality reviews to maintain accurate underwriting, management, regulatory, and statistical reporting.
Maintain complete documentation and correspondence records to support audit and compliance requirements.
Ensure all underwriting information is prepared and submitted within established peer review and quality control timelines.
What You'll Bring
Knowledge of the insurance or reinsurance industry.
Experience with catastrophe modeling tools is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to analyze complex information and apply sound judgment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion.
Comfortable working independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.
The base salary range for this position is $57,000 - $85,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
