Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inquisitive Technical Application Specialist (SCCM) As an experienced Functional & Technical Application Specialist to take ownership of a diverse and sometimes complex application landscape. The role involves managing, supporting, and continuously improving business-critical applications within our IT environment. You will serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure application reliability, performance, and ongoing enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage a broad portfolio of applications, ranging from small local software to large-scale solutions like Java-based applications and Microsoft 365.
  • Act as the primary interface between business users, IT teams, and external vendors to facilitate clear communication and efficient issue resolution.
  • Lead application enhancements, coordinate release preparation, and manage packaging and deployment activities.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues (both functional and technical), and implement improvements to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Support SaaS, on-premise, and hybrid application environments, ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality.
  • Analyze logs and other diagnostic data to identify root causes and resolve incidents promptly.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of ITIL best practices in application management and support processes.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on application hosting environments, including Windows Server and Linux basics.
  • Manage security-related components such as certificates, firewalls, and authentication mechanisms associated with applications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field desired.

Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Functional & Technical Specialist, or in a similar role managing generic applications.
  • Strong functional knowledge of generic business applications and their lifecycle management.
  • Application Support & Troubleshooting -Solid technical troubleshooting skills, including log analysis and root cause identification.
  • Understanding of application hosting environments: Windows Server and basic Linux administration.
  • System Admin SCCM, Office 365
  • Technical support/Change management-Implementation
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, certificates management, firewalls, and authentication protocols.
  • Experience supporting SaaS, on-premises, and hybrid application models.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and its application in incident, problem, and change management.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage application release cycles and packaging processes
  • Proven track record in handling application enhancements, release coordination, and cross-functional communication.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and proactive troubleshooting mindset covering both functional and technical domains.
