Overview

BRMi is seeking an experienced Technical Analyst to support a Digital team developing web, mobile, chat, and voice solutions. This role collaborates with product owners, business analysts, solution architects, developers, and quality assurance teams to translate business needs into detailed technical system requirements.

The Technical Analyst will analyze existing applications, services, APIs, and data integrations to define requirements, identify gaps, support solution development, and troubleshoot production issues. This position requires strong technical analysis skills, hands-on experience working with APIs and multi-tier applications, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners to translate business needs into detailed technical system requirements.
  • Proactively identify requirement gaps, technical issues, dependencies, and potential impacts and communicate them to product ownership.
  • Ensure alternative, exception, and non-happy-path scenarios are identified and appropriately addressed within system requirements.
  • Recommend solutions that consider maintainability, scalability, and opportunities for component reuse.
  • Review system documentation and evaluate test versions of applications and APIs to understand existing functionality and identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Investigate enterprise and vendor APIs to determine data availability and suitability for intended system capabilities.
  • Map data between interfacing applications and systems.
  • Assist with developing and prioritizing features and epics to align technical requirements with product delivery strategies.
  • Participate in project planning, sprint and release planning, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Perform application and service testing and validation.
  • Develop and maintain technical system requirements and supporting documentation, including interface specifications.
  • Provide system and solution demonstrations to project teams and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business partners, developers, Quality Assurance teams, architects, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of production issues.
  • Analyze system documentation, database information, application logs, and testing results to determine the root cause of system issues.
  • Conduct complex technical analysis across multiple applications, products, and services.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant information technology experience.
  • Experience capturing and documenting technical requirements for information systems and applications.
  • Experience conducting complex technical analysis across multiple products, applications, or systems.
  • Experience working with APIs and enterprise or vendor API integrations.
  • Working knowledge of service-oriented architecture and microservices.
  • Familiarity with multi-tier applications, including presentation/application, services/processing, and data management layers.
  • Understanding of data mapping between integrated systems.
  • Working knowledge of XML and JSON data structures.
  • Understanding of configurable system variables, application error handling, and system behavior.
  • Ability to write SQL queries.
  • Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience developing system requirements and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use system documentation, databases, application logs, and scenario testing to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical teams, business partners, and various levels of leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience writing requirements for front-end mobile or web applications preferred.
  • Experience writing requirements for back-end services preferred.
  • Experience using Postman, SoapUI, or similar tools to test and evaluate APIs preferred.
  • Experience within the financial services industry preferred.
  • Experience developing requirements for native mobile applications preferred.
