About the role:
The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (SVHNS) largest program of change - transforming clinical and administrative health practices through the implementation of comprehensive technology and solutions from NSW Health (NSWH) state-wide offerings - connecting people and information for a unified health record across all public health services in NSW.
The Technical Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of the EMR at SVHNS by providing technical analysis, across activities for end user device (EUD) and network uplift & other EMR related technical duties. Working under the guidance of the Technical Lead, this role will support the planning, procurement, coordination, deployment readiness and validation testing required to ensure the EMR solution can be adopted at scale across SVHNS sites - ensuring it aligns with SVHNS’ infrastructure, NSWH digital standards, and cybersecurity requirements.
The Technical Analyst will work closely with SVHA D&T teams, vendors, EMR teams, NSWH ICT teams, and clinical and operational SVHNS stakeholders to coordinate device build and rollout activities, support application validation on systems, and assist with network uplift coordination (including testing and cutover readiness). The role requires strong analytical and coordination skills, attention to detail the ability to interpret technical information and communicate it effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
This position is critical to ensuring that SVHNS end user devices and supporting network infrastructure are uplifted in a controlled, compliant and supportable manner - enabling stable, secure, and high-performing access to EMR capabilities across the SVHNS digital health ecosystem.
Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will combine technical expertise, analytical capability, and strong communication skills to ensure the EMR technical solution is effectively implemented, maintained, and aligned with SVHNS’s digital health environment.
Demonstrated personal integrity and commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia, including a strong service orientation in supporting health transformation.
Experience in technical analysis or system support within complex ICT or digital health environments such as hospitals or aged care environments preferably involving EMR implementations.
Tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science, health informatics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated experience in EUD/EUC planning, procurement coordination, SOE build/imaging, deployment, and application testing.
Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts and the ability to support network uplift coordination (validation/testing/cutover readiness).
Experience supporting environment setup, version control, and system validation across multiple test and production environments.
Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure principles (networks, end user compute devices, & security) and ability to liaise with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams including ICT, clinical, and vendor stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced program environment.
