This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
This position will include sample preparation and instrument operation for measuring stable isotope composition of a variety or organic and inorganic samples including (but not limited to) various PFAS compounds, wood samples, soil samples, and plant biomass samples. Typical instruments used include isotope ratio mass spectrometry and Orbitrap mass spectrometry. Additional duties may include data compilation and initial data assessment.
Desired qualifications include a degree (BS or BA) in chemistry or an aligned field and experience with instrumental analysis where experience with mass spectrometry is preferred.
