This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.

Unit Position Summary

The Digital Content Creator works across functional areas within WKAR to research, produce, and publish online content—including text, images, and videos—for various digital platforms. The purpose of the work is to engage and inform target audiences, drive brand awareness, and meet fundraising goals. The work involves idea generation, content creation, editing and basic graphic design. The role also assists with SEO optimization, performance analysis, and adapting content for different digital platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment to shoot, edit, and post engaging and authentic short-form content that grows digital audiences and drives dialogue. The roll reports to and works at the direction of the WKAR Communications Manager.

Responsibilities

• Collaborative Idea Generation: Work with WKAR’s news, education, development, music, and content teams to develop concepts for shortform digital assets.
• Content Production: Create various types of digital content including written posts, video reels, graphics, and infographics, that amplify the work of WKAR teams.
• Editing and Proofreading: Review and refine newsletter content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency before posting and publication.
• Platform Adaptation: Tailor content to suit the specific requirements and best practices of different digital platforms, such as social media networks and blogs.
• SEO Integration: Optimize content with keywords and other SEO best practices to improve its visibility and search engine ranking.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools to understand what engages the audience and refine future strategies.

• Written Content: Blog posts, social media updates, website copy.
• Visual Content: Graphics, infographics, photographs.
• Audio Content: Podcasts and audio effects.
