Job Description

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $74,325 to $104,929 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience

The opportunity

As Technical Advisor for Condition Assessment activities, you will join a new team playing a key role in ensuring the reliability and resilience of the three waters network (water supply, wastewater, and stormwater) through the delivery of routine, planned condition assessment activities. You will focus on gathering accurate data on asset condition to ensure insights are turned into meaningful data to inform asset management, maintenance planning, and investment decisions.

In this role you will:

  • Schedule and undertake routine condition assessments of all pipes across the three waters network

  • Collaborate with both internal and external teams on planned and reactive work to assist in the collection of condition assessment information

  • Gather data on asset condition by completing assessments using assessment methods including visual inspections, CCTV, pressure testing and dye testing

  • Be involved with the implementation of new condition assessment technologies

  • Plan and establish traffic management controls when required

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Practical experience in asset inspection, condition assessment or maintenance in a utility or infrastructure environment in relation to three waters

  • Experience using computer-based asset management systems

  • Strong problem solving and investigative skills

  • A relevant Technical or Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience

  • A full NZ Class 1 Drivers Licence and a strong commitment to health and safety
