Key Responsibilities
Provide technical supervision and advisory support onboard vessels, with a focus on engineering systems, DP, and critical deck/auxiliary equipment.
Support and guide Chief Engineers and technical crew in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance.
Assist with planned and unplanned maintenance interventions, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with PMS.
Conduct vessel condition assessments, report technical gaps, and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of key machinery, including engines, generators, DP systems, pumps, cranes, and winches.
Provide hands-on mentoring and training to vessel engineers, electricians, and ETOs to build internal capability.
Ensure compliance with Class, Flag, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and client-specific technical requirements.
Support the execution of DP trials, audits, and other vessel-specific inspections as required.
Coordinate with the shore-based teams for escalation and support, while maintaining operational independence.
Review and enhance technical documentation onboard, including manuals, procedures, and reporting formats.
Assess current spare parts inventory onboard and propose optimized critical spare parts lists aligned with vessel needs, maintenance cycles, and operational risk.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all vessel departments.
Report and evaluate the vessels crews as well as shore base support levels

Qualifications & Experience
Marine Engineering Certificate of Competency (ChEng Unlimited)
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the offshore marine sector, including time onboard DP2/DP3 vessels.
Strong understanding of OSV operations, maintenance planning, and DP systems.
Proven record of troubleshooting complex technical issues onboard.
Experience with PMS systems (e.g., NSE).
Familiar with FMEA, DP trials, and Class/statutory compliance frameworks.
Fluency in English/Russian(spoken and written); strong communication and leadership skills.
