Job Description

  • Provide technical and operational support across water, stormwater, and wastewater networks

  • Investigate, resolve, and verify network issues to ensure safe and reliable services

  • Role domiciled at the Porirua Depot

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.

The remuneration range for this role is $74,325 to $104,929 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

As a Technical Advisor, you will be a key link between operational field teams, capital delivery teams, and customers. You’ll use your technical expertise to investigate network issues, develop and verify scope of works, and ensure work is completed to regional standards. You’ll contribute to the smooth operation of the network and assist with monitoring network performance.

  • Provide technical support and advice to operational teams on water, stormwater, and wastewater issues

  • Investigate complex network faults and determine the appropriate resolution or scope of works to resolve a raised issue

  • Review completed works and verify compliance with standards and specifications

  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to address enquiries and maintain positive relationships

  • Support network monitoring, data management, and reporting to inform operational decision-making

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Relevant technical or trade qualification (engineering qualification desirable)

  • Strong problem-solving, investigative, and analytical skills

  • Experience in customer service and stakeholder engagement

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, along with a readiness to learn our work tracking management system

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing competing priorities

  • Full NZ Class 1 driver licence
