AP is seeking an operationally driven and technically minded professional to help scale the AP’s ability to license its world-class journalism as data to non-media customers. The Technical Account Manager will be responsible for the technical onboarding, process management and relationship coordination across a variety of data marketplaces, working as part of the Americas Revenue team. This is a cross-functional position requiring strong organizational and project management skills. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with AP’s Strategic Partnerships, Revenue, Product, Technology and Legal teams, ensuring smooth integrations and operational excellence at scale. You enjoy building systems, improving workflows and solving technical-operational challenges that enable new growth and revenue opportunities.
Serve as the day-to-day operational lead for AP’s presence across data marketplaces, including as initial and primary POC for inbound inquiries and inbox management.
Act as primary point of contact for operational and technical interactions with marketplace teams
Coordinate technical onboarding, integrations and payment processes with external marketplace providers and internal stakeholders
Maintain and update marketplace listings and data assets in collaboration with stakeholders
Develop and document workflows, onboarding guides, and operational playbooks to support scalability
Help implement systems for data refreshes, access controls, monitoring, and issue resolution to ensure reliable delivery
Build working knowledge of data marketplace platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Data Exchange, Databricks, and Google Cloud Marketplace, including their capabilities and business models.
Track, escalate and help resolve marketplace-related operational or technical issues
Partner with Strategic Partner Managers to support technical assessments and post-launch maintenance
Collaborate with Revenue and Product teams to translate operational metrics into business insights, inform pricing strategies and identify opportunities for growth
Ensure all marketplace activities adhere to AP’s highest standards of data governance, licensing and privacy
Collaborate with Legal and Technology teams to align data usage terms, access permissions and security protocols
Identify process gaps and recommend operational enhancements to improve scalability, transparency and efficiency
Track marketplace performance and operational metrics, generating regular reports for internal stakeholders
Analyze usage data, partner feedback, competitor offerings and market trends to recommend improvements to AP’s marketplace strategy
Share learnings and insights across internal teams to inform product and partnership decisions
5+ years of relevant experience in data operations, marketplace management or platform partnerships within technology, media or data-as-a-service industries
3+ years delivering large and complex programs - owning the business or technical vision, collaborating with large cross-functional teams, securing commitments on deliverables, and unblocking teams to land business impact
3 years + experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects involving technical, legal and business teams
Proven experience creating and maintaining scalable operational processes
Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of translating technical details into clear business terms
Strong understanding of data infrastructure, APIs, metadata management and marketplace ecosystems
Experience with platforms in the data and cloud computing ecosystem (Snowflake, AWS Data Exchange, Databricks, and Google Cloud Marketplace, etc.)
Self-starter with strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with data licensing, rights management or content distribution
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data management, business or related field
Location
This position follows a hybrid work model based in AP’s New York headquarters. AP employees are onsite three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Salary & Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000– 125,000, based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications and location.
