Job Description
About the company
Our client is a manufacturing company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join as the first dedicated sales hire for a newly formed commercial function, bringing precision machining projects in from hardware and aerospace buyers. What you'll do
- Source new original-equipment customers, mostly from a blank slate, and develop a healthy pipeline of quote requests and billed work.
- Grow existing relationships by widening the scope of work, the number of parts and the overall spend.
- Offer input on a new online purchasing tool and the surrounding customer workflow as it is developed.
- Prioritize opportunities by weighing revenue against the production data each job generates.
- Visit customer sites and company manufacturing facilities, mainly on the West Coast.

- Experience in business development, technical sales or procurement with hardware makers, defense or aerospace firms, or selling for a precision machine shop to large customers in those sectors.
- A resourceful, technical and personable style suited to outbound prospecting.
- US citizenship is required because of export control rules.

- A degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
- Time at an early-stage company, or a history of landing large enterprise accounts.
