All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This is a pro-bono volunteer position.

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy (3-4 hours/week) as long-term engagement (6 months) for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Administrator to join our dynamic Operational Excellence (OPEX) team. As an Azure Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our web hosting infrastructure, WordPress sites, SFTP, MS SQL databases, and Gitlab hosting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Azure technologies, with a focus on Azure Identity, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Active Directory, and Azure.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise web hosting services, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Administer and maintain WordPress sites, troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements.
• Oversee SFTP configurations and support secure file transfer protocols.
• Manage configuration/access for Gitlab hosting,MS SQL, Wordpress administered by other team members
• Implement and maintain Azure Identity solutions for secure authentication and authorization.
• Utilise Microsoft Entra ID for user provisioning, authentication, and access management.
• Administer and troubleshoot Azure Active Directory to ensure seamless user management and access control.
• Clear understanding of cloud computing services, including networking, storage, database, security tooling, servers, and software.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Azure Administrator or similar role.
• Knowledge of web hosting technologies, WordPress, SFTP, MS SQL databases, and Gitlab hosting.
• Strong expertise in Azure services, with a focus on Azure Identity and Azure Active Directory.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID and its integration within Azure environments.
• Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Relevant Azure certifications or ongoing pursuit of Azure certifications is a plus.

*Pro-Bono position expects a commitment of 3-4 Hours per week for a preferred 6 months.

Requirements

Weekly meeting Sundays 7:30pm-8:00pm EST Attend the Scrum meeting of the team you will be supporting (weekly or daily).
