All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.
We’re looking for a volunteer Software Development Lead with a background in software or IT to help manage small tech projects and support other technical volunteers. This person will help keep our operational solutions and systems running smoothly by writing scripts and connecting different platforms using APIs.
We work across several services (Jira, Salesforce, Google Workplace, Gemini, iCiMS), and have workflow automations to make the process of onboarding and operating our many short term volunteers as streamlined as possible. We do this by maintaining scripts (primarily google app script/javascript) and other APIs and automated workflows.

Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
Previous leadership or mentoring experience in a non-profit environment is a plus
