Job Description

Hive Group, a HUBZone-certified SDVOSB and multiple award-winning organization, delivers innovative solutions for complex, mission-critical federal programs. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer/Editor to support the US Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) Operational Contract Support (OCS) Support Services initiative.

As a pivotal member of the team, you will manage the full lifecycle of complex OCS doctrinal products from initial research and drafting through final electronic publication. This role requires an expert-level understanding of military publishing standards, serving as the frontline custodian for compliance with TRADOC Regulation 25-30 and TR 25-36. A successful candidate will thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment—continually reviewing roughly 100 annual policy documents and meticulously managing strict, non-negotiable two-day timelines for Change Resolution Matrices (CRMs). If you are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in Army doctrine, strict regulatory standards, and complex stakeholder collaboration, we encourage you to submit your information and resume.

This position is located on-site at Ft Lee, VA, requires an Active Secret Clearance and is contingent upon contract award.

  • Ensure all publications strictly follow TRADOC Regulation 25-30 procedures, timelines, and formatting guidelines.
  • Review approximately 100 annual policy and doctrine documents continuously for accurate OCS content inclusion.
  • Resolve complex document feedback and compile findings daily into a Change Resolution Matrix (CRM).
  • Submit completed CRMs to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) within tight, non-negotiable two-day windows.
  • Submit recommended comment matrices to the COR three days prior to strict deadline suspenses.
  • Research, draft, staff, and submit core Operational Contract Support (OCS) doctrinal documents.
  • Produce foundational Program Directives, Initial Drafts, Final Drafts, and Final Signature Drafts.
  • Review Army Techniques Publications (ATP) 4-10 and 4-10.1 on a recurring 18-month cycle.
  • Analyze handbook topic needs and draft OCS Handbooks to augment core training manuals.
  • Provide formal, justified memorandums recommending document changes or major revisions.
  • Provide monthly running operational estimates to the COR for CASCOM G-3 submission.
  • Gather annual historical achievements and future workload projections for CASCOM Doctrine Branch.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain an active SECRETSecurity Clearance
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience writing and editing military doctrine or technical publications.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, editing, and proofreading documents in strict accordance with TR 25-30 and 25-36
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office 365, and Adobe Pro.
  • Prior experience in Operational Contract Support (OCS) is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated compensation range for this position is between $78,000 and $85,000 annually. Actual salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s specialized skills, certifications, and years of experience.
