Job Purpose

We are looking for a highly capable Tech Business Partner – Digital Commerce to drive technology-enabled business transformation in China, with a particular focus on scalable digital commerce platforms (including Douyin social commerce), AI-driven content and operational technologies, and continuous advancement of standardized operating systems and integrated business procedures that capture, systematize, and evolve China innovation for deployment across markets.

The ideal candidate is an influential communicator with strong learning agility, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments. This individual will play a key role in building scalable business technology capabilities that align China innovation with global technology standards.

Key Responsibilities (Recommended: 10 bullet points maximum)

• Partner with business leaders and act as the voice of Technology in business and global governance forums, translating strategic priorities into technology roadmaps and scalable digital solutions that drive growth.

• Lead end-to-end demand management, including requirement shaping, business case development, prioritization, and alignment with enterprise architecture and investment governance.

• Manage complex cross-functional programs and projects, ensuring delivery of agreed scope, timeline, budget, and business outcomes while ensuring architectural integrity and enterprise alignment.

• Identify, evaluate, and introduce emerging technologies such as generative AI for content production, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and content technologies to solve business challenges and unlock new opportunities.

• Drive value adoption and benefits realization by establishing KPIs, tracking frameworks, and change management plans to ensure successful business embedding.

• Translate complex technical concepts into business language, articulate reusable technology capabilities, and define scalable solution patterns for regional deployment.

• Lead the technology enablement of digital commerce and content-driven capabilities, including Douyin operating models, content factory platforms, and consumer engagement solutions.

• Define and socialize the technical playbook, ensuring Douyin and D-commerce capabilities are designed for replication across markets.

• Build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across business, Digital & Technology, global teams, and external partners.

• Promote agile ways of working, product thinking, and continuous improvement to accelerate innovation and enhance delivery effectiveness.

Scope of Accountability

  • Direct business impact: Shape and deliver initiatives that enable significant growth across Digital Commerce, Douyin, and content-led business models.

  • Technology strategy: Own business-facing technology roadmap and demand portfolio for key commercial capabilities.

  • Innovation enablement: Introduce and scale AI, automation, and data-driven solutions embedded into core business processes.

  • Value realization: Establish and govern value tracking frameworks to ensure measurable business outcomes.

  • Technology advocacy: Represent China Technology interests in global Digital & Technology governance, ensuring China requirements and innovations shape global platform roadmaps.

  • Cross-functional leadership: Coordinate internal teams and external partners to deliver strategic capabilities end-to-end.

Knowledge/ Education / Experience Required

A. Educational Background

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have developed a strong combination of technical expertise, business partnership capability, and leadership experience in innovative and fast-moving environments.

B. Job-Related Experience

  • Proven experience as a Technology Business Partner, Product Manager, Consulting Manager, or related role at a senior level.

  • Strong understanding of digital commerce, social commerce, and content-driven business models, particularly within the Douyin ecosystem.

  • Solid technical foundation with experience in enterprise applications, system integration, cloud platforms, data, and AI technologies.

  • Demonstrated success in demand management, portfolio prioritization, and strategic roadmap development.

  • Strong project and program management experience delivering complex business transformation initiatives.

  • Experience designing reusable platform architectures and rolling out digital capabilities across multiple markets or regions is highly preferred.

  • Proven track record in value adoption, business change management, and benefits realization.

  • Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts in business terms and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with strong learning agility.

  • Experience in FMCG, Consumer Health, Retail, or Digital Commerce industries is highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.

  • Curiosity and learning agility to continuously explore emerging technologies and new business models.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity, determination, and passion for innovation.
