The role of the Technology M&A and Large Program Team is to execute technology solutions required to meet AEP’s strategic objectives as it relates to divestitures, acquisitions, or other large programs. This role will be responsible for strategy Technology programs. The Technolgoy Program Manager will coordinate multiple departments within IT as well as the Business Unit and third parties to develop solutions and implement a comprehensive technical approach between AEP, the buyer/seller, and third parties.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage, or assist in the management of, base, intermediate, and/or complex projects and progressively develop to managing intermediate projects in a matrix team environment.

  • Provide leadership, direction, coordination, and effective communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short- and long-range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction.

  • Provide project transparency and develop relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and industry peers, enabling them to make sound business decisions.

  • Enable and promote team level continuous improvement activities that increase quality and optimize delivery of value.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of networking and infrastructure projects—coordinating network engineers, vendors, change windows, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet redundancy, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Translate technical network designs into detailed project plans, schedules, risk/mitigation actions, and validation criteria (including post-cutover stability and SLA verification).

  • Experience as a Program Manager, managing multiple functions across complex, interconnected projects

  • Solution oriented leadership and experience in leading teams through large organizational change – Experience in applying Organizational Change Management (OCM) principals

  • Coordinating and broker solutions across IT, BU, and third parties to meet the goals of the overall strategic objectives

  • Thorough understanding of technology as well as project/program management methods and techniques

  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence

  • Experience leading teams through ambiguity and uncertainty

  • Experience in leading the technology functions as a part of Mergers and acquisitions and divestitures

  • Experience: Renewables, Infrastructure projects, understanding of networking and SCADA

What We're Looking For:

Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, or related technical field is required.

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
