Each month more than 80 million aviation enthusiasts visit Flightradar24, and our Commercial Services team works with some of the biggest names in aviation. We are looking for a Tech Lead to take ownership of the engineering efforts behind our full B2B product portfolio.

We are transitioning from a data-provider to an essential operational partner. We don't just track flights; we provide the predictive insights that allow airlines, airports, and manufacturers to increase efficiencies, eliminate uncertainty and drive bottomline growth.

We are seeking a Tech Lead to be the founding engineer of our B2B tech-team. You will have a leading role in our transformation as we productise our raw data into B2B products. You will work together with our Sales team to define what we need to build. You will then take ownership of architecture and technology choices to deliver reliable, scalable and safe solutions. As we scale, you will have the opportunity to build a world-class engineering team.

The existing B2B portfolio includes, live data feeds, custom historical data exports, our public REST API service, and the business features of flightradar24.com We have large volumes of ADS-B and other flight data, at different levels of granularity.

What you'll do

  • Own the engineering behind Flightradar24's entire B2B product portfolio, from customer-facing features to the underlying data pipelines and services

  • Design and build scalable backend services powering live data feeds, APIs, historical exports, and new commercial products

  • Work across the full technical stack where needed, from data lakehouse and databases through backend services to frontend applications

  • Build new capabilities on top of Flightradar24's real-time aviation data, transforming raw aircraft telemetry into valuable products for customers

  • Improve the scalability, reliability, observability, and operational excellence of production systems

  • Work closely with platform, data, web, and infrastructure teams to integrate with the broader Flightradar24 ecosystem

About you

  • Have several years of experience building and operating production software at scale

  • Are comfortable working across different parts of a modern technology stack, from data platforms and databases to backend services and user-facing applications

  • Can quickly understand complex existing systems, even when documentation is limited or the architecture has evolved over many years

  • Balance pragmatic delivery with thoughtful engineering and know when to optimize and when to keep things simple

Required technical competence

  • Strong experience designing and building production fullstack systems

  • Experience working with modern cloud platforms, preferably AWS

  • Solid understanding of databases, distributed systems, and data architecture

  • Experience with APIs, event-driven systems, streaming platforms, or large-scale data processing

  • Comfortable working across multiple technology stacks and learning new technologies when needed

  • Strong understanding of reliability, observability, testing, and production operations

  • Backend & Data: C++, Python, Go

  • Cloud & Data Platform: AWS (S3, Glue/Spark, Airflow/MWAA, Athena, MSK/Kafka)

  • Streaming & Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ

  • Databases & Storage: SQL/NoSQL systems (e.g., MySQL/MariaDB/Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, Hazelcast)

  • DevOps & Platform: Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform
