Job Description

The primary role of Tech I - Maintenance is to be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of equipment, machinery, and facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to avoid equipment breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, systems, and machinery.
  • Maintain and repair building infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general facility upkeep.
  • Monitors safety systems, such as fire alarms and emergency exits, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs,
  • Report on maintenance schedules, broken equipment, and inventory needs.
  • Work with other departments to schedule maintenance to schedule downtime to minimize disruptions.
  • Communicate effectively with management about urgent repairs, equipment failure, or safety concerns.
  • Monitor inventory levels for tools, parts, and materials.
  • Request for ordering necessary supplies and replacement parts as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
  • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Physically capable of lifting fifty pounds.
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations.
  • Industrial Electrical 309A or 442 license required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with all departments.
  • Grade 12 plus Secondary Education required related to field.
