You will join the Wholesale Banking Global Tribe Lending, where we aim to make complex lending simple for borrowers, ING employees, investors, and regulators.
In this role, you will work across squads to automate and improve Lending processes such as loan origination, portfolio monitoring, and risk management.
You will contribute to advanced analytics, Generative AI (GenAI), and machine learning use cases, applying modern AI/ML and cloud technologies to deliver impactful, production-ready solutions.
The team
You will be part of the AI Chapter within the Lending Tribe, a global team based in Amsterdam, Bucharest, and Manila focused on applying AI to simplify lending processes.
The team works in a collaborative and innovative environment, partnering with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable AI solutions across Lending.
Roles and responsibilities
In this role you will:
Develop and scale AI/GenAI and machine learning use cases in the Lending domain
Translate business problems into data-driven and AI-enabled solutions
Work with modern AI and cloud stack (e.g., Python, APIs, CI/CD, cloud platforms such as GCP)
Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders across multiple squads
Contribute to automation, data extraction, and intelligent decision-support solutions
Support end-to-end delivery including prototyping, testing, deployment, and documentation

We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals and a growth mindset:
Strong programming skills in Python (Java is a plus)
Knowledge of machine learning, NLP, or LLM-based solutions.
Experience with modern AI tooling (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face)
Familiarity with APIs and software engineering best practices
Understanding of CI/CD, software lifecycle, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure)
Strong collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional environment
