Enterprise Technology plays a critical part in shaping the future of mobility. If you’re looking for the chance to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, enhance the customer experience and improve people’s lives, this is the opportunity for you. Join us and challenge your IT expertise and analytical skills to help create vehicles that are as smart as you are.

In this position...

We are seeking a proactive Supply Chain Tech Anchor (8+ years of experience) to lead the design, development, and deployment of full-stack products hosting advanced Supply Chain Analytics and Generative AI/LLM solutions (including Anthropic Claude). In this hybrid role based in Dearborn, MI, you will serve as the technical backbone of the team—writing clean code, designing robust data pipelines on GCP, and integrating machine learning models.

As a technical leader and Agile mentor, you will champion Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming while collaborating closely with GDIA partners and Ford leadership to deliver high-impact MVPs.

Key Tech Stack: Java (Spring Boot), Python, Angular, SQL, GCP, and LLMs/Generative AI.(Note: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration at least once a week in Dearborn, MI).

What you'll do...

  • Lead & Architect: Create high-level designs, system-level sequence diagrams, and validate/apply architectural standards across the supply chain analytics ecosystem.
  • AI & ML Integration: Integrate Machine Learning algorithms and build robust, production-ready applications powered by Generative AI and LLMs (such as OpenCode) to optimize supply chain decision-making.
  • Engineering Excellence: Practice and champion software engineering excellence by writing clean, well-crafted, and highly maintainable code.
  • Data Pipelines: Architect and build distributed, fault-tolerant data pipelines from scratch to ingest, process, and serve massive datasets.
  • Ensure supported data and software products align with enterprise policies.
  • Hands-on Mentorship: Pair program with team members, mentor engineers on clean code practices, and guide the team on Extreme Programming (XP) and Agile ways of working.
  • Agile Practices: Advocate for and implement Test-Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, and iterative delivery principles.
  • Product Delivery: Work closely with Product Owners and GDIA partners to define, prioritize, and deliver Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) using Jira.
  • Change Agent: Help Product Development Office (PDO) teams adopt new, modern ways of working and actively contribute to Ford’s institutional knowledge base.

You'll have...

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of delivering customer-facing full-stack products.
  • Backend Development: Strong experience in Java (including Spring Boot) and Python.
  • Frontend Development: 3+ years of experience with Angular, React (or similar modern client-side MVC frameworks).
  • Data Engineering: 3+ years of experience with SQL and building out highly distributed, fault-tolerant data pipelines.
  • Cloud Services: 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • AI & LLM Capabilities:
  • Practical experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) like OpenCode or GPT into web applications.
  • Solid understanding of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and vector databases, MCP Protocol, and Agentic systems.
  • Basic understanding of core Machine Learning concepts and potential supply chain use cases.
  • Agile & Tools: Strong experience working in an Agile/PDO environment using Jira for backlog management.
  • Soft Skills: Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to confidently present technical concepts to Ford leadership and collaborate across diverse teams

Even better, you may have...

  • Advanced GCP Stack: Deep familiarity with GCP services including BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, CloudSQL, GCS, Cloud Functions, and Pub/Sub.
  • Big Data & Streaming: Experience with open-source big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Proficiency in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Gradle, GitHub Actions).
  • Advanced AI: Experience fine-tuning LLMs, building agentic AI workflows, or deploying ML models into production environments.
  • Testing Rigor: Strong background in Automated Testing frameworks (Unit, Integration, and End-to-End testing).
