About the role

As Technical Team Lead, you are the driving force of the technical office. You combine strong technical expertise with people management and process improvement. Together with your team, you ensure accurate and timely quotations, while providing customers with expert technical advice. You coordinate the daily workload, safeguard quality and efficiency, and take the lead in optimisation and automation initiatives. In short: you bring people, technology and numbers together.

Main responsibilities:

In this role you'll:

  • Organising and managing the daily work planning of the estimation team
  • Preparing and reviewing cost calculations and quotations for metal fabrication
  • Analysing and interpreting technical drawings and customer requirements
  • Providing practical and technical advice to customers, project managers and colleagues
  • Handling telephone communication with customers regarding ongoing orders and changes
  • Coaching, guiding and developing team members, with a focus on junior profiles
  • Creating an efficient, collaborative and engaged team environment
  • Initiating and implementing process and system improvements, including automation
  • Monitoring key performance indicators such as internal satisfaction, engagement and training completion
  • Ensuring accurate financial processing, compliance and cost control

Experience required:

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a technical field (e.g. construction or engineering)
  • Relevant experience in estimation, work preparation, engineering or a technical office environment
  • Initial experience in leading or coaching a team
  • Affinity with production processes, preferably metalworking (laser cutting, bending, welding)
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience with ERP systems and estimation or planning software
  • Proficient in MS Office and a strong digital mindset
  • Languages: Dutch (excellent), French (professional level), English is a plus
