Job Description

Imagine a future where you lead planning excellence that enables safe, efficient, and reliable offshore wind operations, ensuring that every activity is prepared and executed with precision.

Join us in this role where you’ll lead the planning and work preparation team (we have 16 employees) at our Norddeich site. You’ll drive structured planning processes, align cross‑functional stakeholders, and ensure that all work is prepared, prioritised, and executed efficiently to support safe and reliable offshore operations.

Welcome to Planning and Work Preparation

You’ll be part of Planning and Work Preparation where you together with your colleagues will ensure high‑quality planning, coordination, and preparation of offshore operational activities. You’ll work closely with execution, logistics, engineering, HSE, and external partners to align priorities, optimise resources, and maintain operational readiness across the site.

As a team, we collaborate openly, support each other, and continuously improve how we plan and execute to deliver safe and efficient offshore operations.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • leading and developing the Planning and Work Preparation team, ensuring clear roles, priorities, and performance development
  • establishing integrated short‑, mid‑, and long‑term planning processes to ensure availability, efficiency, and risk mitigation
  • ensuring high technical quality in planning, including work scope, sequencing, dependencies and competencies
  • coordinating work preparation activities to ensure that all work orders are ready for execution in line with Ørsted processes
  • managing resource and capacity planning, including internal and external workforce, and optimising utilisation across operations
  • maintaining structured and up‑to‑date documentation, ensuring alignment with internal standards, authorities, and certification requirements.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have completed a degree within engineering, business administration, or a related field, or bring equivalent experience
  • have experience within operations and maintenance, ideally in offshore wind or a comparable industrial environment
  • have strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory requirements in offshore or industrial operations
  • demonstrate technical understanding of planning, supply chain, logistics, and operational processes
  • have experience leading teams and developing people in a structured and collaborative way
  • communicate clearly and effectively, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Please note that the role is located in our Norddeich office.

Maybe you’ve read the above and feel that your skills don’t match every point exactly. If you believe you can contribute to the team, we still encourage you to apply.

About Ørsted

Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen, and energy storage. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm back in 1991, and with over 2,000 turbines at sea, we’ve installed more offshore wind capacity than anyone else. In total, we own or operate over 17 GW of renewable energy capacity across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

We know that to build renewable energy at pace and scale, we must build it right. We commit to developing and operating our assets in harmony with nature and in line with the need for science-based climate action. We prioritise integrity and safety in our operations, and we respect the human rights and diverse values of every employee and stakeholder.

As a global renewable energy leader, we leverage the curiosity and passion of our people to innovate and take new or existing technologies to scale, collaborating with governments, suppliers, and our industry partners to make green energy solutions a reality.
