The opportunity:
Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a seasoned Project Technical Engineering Professional to lead and contribute to complex engineering projects. This role involves applying advanced technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery from conception through completion, aligning with company objectives and client requirements.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of engineering projects, including planning, design, execution, and closure, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule. Develop and implement technical solutions, strategies, and methodologies for complex engineering challenges.

  • Conduct detailed technical analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform project decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales, to integrate technical solutions and ensure seamless project execution.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.

  • Prepare and present technical reports, specifications, and documentation to internal stakeholders and external clients.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes and technical practices.

  • Act as a primary technical point of contact for clients and external partners, managing expectations and ensuring client satisfaction.

  • Ensure all project activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and Hitachi's quality protocols.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field); Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in technical engineering roles with a strong focus on project leadership and execution.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.

  • Deep technical expertise in at least one specialized engineering domain relevant to Hitachi's business (e.g., power systems, industrial automation, railway systems, IT infrastructure).

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile) and tools. Proficiency in relevant engineering software and simulation tools.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in Japanese is a plus.
