Job Description

Job Purpose

  • To ensure accurate, compliant, and timely scrutiny of account opening, maintenance, and closure requests for Government Departments and Government entities in accordance with RBI regulations and internal bank policies.
  • To mitigate operational and compliance risks through effective document scrutiny, stakeholder coordination, process improvements, MIS reporting, and capability building of business teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed scrutiny of account opening documentation for Government Departments and other Government entities in accordance with regulatory and bank internal process guidelines.
  • Verify KYC documents, constitutional documents, authorisation letters, government orders, and related records as per the prescribed KYC framework and guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance with RBI regulations, internal policies, and procedural requirements during account onboarding and maintenance.
  • Review and process account maintenance requests, including addition or deletion of authorised signatories, signature updates, dormant account reactivation, and other account modifications.
  • Scrutinise account closure requests, validate supporting documentation, and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained prior to closure.
  • Liaise with Branches, Government Business Relationship Teams, and RPC Operations Teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing of requests.
  • Issue welcome letters to the recently onboarded clients
  • Flash MIS to Business team on account opening

Skills / Knowledge Required

  • Strong knowledge of RBI regulations, KYC guidelines, Government account opening procedures, and banking operational policies related to account lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in document scrutiny, risk and compliance assessment, stakeholder coordination, MIS reporting, and handling account maintenance and closure scrutiny with high accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify process gaps, drive improvements, and deliver training to business teams and stakeholders
