Although we hire Team Members to work any position needed to fulfill operational needs below are some job descriptions to inform you of our expectations at Whataburger. As a Team Member at Whataburger, among the duties you need to perform are food preparation, customer service, and the day-to-day tasks involved in the operation. Above all, your main responsibility is to interact with customers including but not limited to taking and receiving orders, processing payments, and responding appropriately to whatever the customer needs. Team Members must prepare the products based on the company’s service philosophy. They must also follow the standards when it comes to maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and serving guests with enthusiasm, courtesy, and hospitality ensuring guests feel welcomed
  • Ensure all food is fresh, properly presented, and delivered in a timely manner
  • Taking orders, explaining, and suggesting menu items, responding to order changes or edits quickly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the brand, products, and promotions
  • Frying, baking, or cooking food items.
  • Ensuring guest complaints are resolved properly and swiftly
  • Ensuring that products and guests' experiences are consistent with our brand, culture, and standard of excellence.
  • Tracking and monitoring product hold times to ensure all products are served within quality and safety standards.
  • Managing and maintaining inventory and equipment along with stocking supplies and keeping workstations organized and clean
  • Assisting in executing opening and/or closing procedures.
  • Communicating clearly with guests, fellow team members, and leaders.
  • Maintaining a sanitary and safe restaurant by mopping, sweeping floors, removing trash, cleaning equipment, and keeping restrooms clean.
  • Maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Collaborate with team members and managers to meet daily operational goals
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 16 years (may vary by location)
  • Ability to multitask and operate a cash register
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and lift heavy objects of 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, dependable, and strong work ethic.
  • Treats others with honor, dignity, and respect.
  • Willing to travel to other locations (if needed)
