Job Description

TeamViewer provides a leading Digital Workplace platform that connects people with technology—enabling, improving and automating digital processes to make work work better. Our software solutions harness the power of AI and shape the future of digitalization.

We believe that our diverse teams and strong company culture are key to the success of our products and technologies, that hundreds of millions of users around the world and around 645,000 customers across all industries rely on. With more than 1,900 employees worldwide, we celebrate the unique perspectives and talents that each individual brings to the table and foster a dynamic work environment where new ideas thrive. Are you ready to join our team and make an impact?

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Team Manager (all genders) to lead the engineering teams building and running the backend services that power TeamViewer products. This is a leader-of-leaders role: you will manage and develop a group of Team Leads, growing their leadership capability so they can run high-performing teams on their own. Alongside this, you will shape the technical and organizational direction of these services, and ensure they remain secure, reliable and scalable as our products and customer base grow. You will work closely with Product Management, Architecture, Security and other R&D leaders in an agile, modern environment.

  • Lead, coach and develop a group of Team Leads, helping them grow as people managers and technical leaders, while supporting engineers directly where needed.
  • Build a strong leadership bench: set clear expectations for Team Leads, run regular 1:1s and feedback cycles, and identify and grow future leaders within the teams.
  • Create alignment across your Team Leads so that multiple agile teams work toward shared goals with consistent practices.
  • Own the delivery and long-term evolution of the backend services that power our products, balancing new capabilities with stability, security and technical debt.
  • Drive roadmap execution with Product Management and other stakeholders, translating business needs into clear team priorities.
  • Ensure our backend meets high standards for availability, performance, security and compliance.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams across the company on integration, shared standards and scalable solutions.
  • Oversee capacity planning, resource allocation and hiring to support growth and delivery.
  • Promote engineering excellence and agile best practices across development, testing, deployment and operations.
  • Support the professional development of your team through coaching, feedback and career planning.
  • Act as a key link between engineering and senior management, translating technical progress and risk into business-relevant updates.
  • Champion a culture of open communication, psychological safety, ownership and accountability.

Requirements

  • A university or college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a solid understanding of modern development practices.
  • 4+ years in a managerial role within software development, ideally in an agile environment.
  • 1+ years of experience leading leaders (Team Leads or Engineering Managers), including coaching them, managing their performance and growing them into stronger leaders.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple teams building and operating backend services in production through a layer of Team Leads.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, software architecture, scalability, and the full development and operations lifecycle.
  • Experience with services that have high requirements for security, reliability and backward compatibility is a strong plus.
  • Experience in strategic planning, team building and performance management, including hiring and onboarding Team Leads.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across teams and stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Portuguese or German is a plus.

What we offer

  • Onsite Onboarding in our HQ office for an optimal start
  • Great compensation and benefits packages including company achievement bonus or sales bonus and regular salary reviews
  • Public transport friendly offices
  • Special terms for local gyms
  • Access to Corporate Benefits platform with many discounts
  • Regular Team events and company-wide celebrations
  • Open door policy, no dress code rules, frequent all Hands and Leadership Lunches
  • Hybrid and Flexible work time
  • Work From Abroad Program allowing up to 40 days of work outside your contracting country
  • We celebrate diversity as one of core values, join and drive one of the c-a-r-e initiatives together with us!
