Social Work Team Manager – In Care (Children’s Services) | 10716 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £50,166 to £54,277 per annum | Grade L | Great Yarmouth

Hi, I am Michelle Jones, Service Manager for In Care at Norfolk County Council. Norfolk with a recent Ofsted Grading as ‘Outstanding’ with ‘aspirational senior leadership’. We are proud of our Social Work Teams and value all our practitioners and the work they do.

This is an exciting time to join our Management Team at Norfolk. As the recent Ofsted outcome found, children in care in Norfolk receive exceptional help and support that enables most to make significant progress. Additionally, children in Norfolk receive ‘consistently strong services that impact positively on their and their families’ lives’. In addition, Ofsted found that Norfolk is a child centred authority where the culture is that ‘children and care leavers come first’.

This is a service to be proud of with its continued commitment to improving the outcomes for our children and young people and being part of a culture which nurtures development, creativity and child and young person-centred practice. Our Team Managers really support their teams and the work they do to achieve positive outcomes for our young people and our staff.

We are looking for a Team Manager who holds a Social Work Qualification. You will be experienced in working with looked after children, demonstrate good leadership and mentoring skill, be an excellent team player and share our vision to provide the best possible outcomes for children and families. If candidates are exploring career progression, we welcome evidence and demonstration of strong performance, a willingness to learn and develop in areas such as recruitment and budget management.

In Care is an exciting service in Norfolk which continues to develop and grow. You will be part of developing the working practices within the teams as well as working closely with partner agencies to develop a robust, positive offer to those children and young people. You will be joining a committed, supportive and energetic local management team, supporting a diverse staff group as well as managing a busy locality team focused on delivering a high-quality service. Quality support and supervision will be provided to you, and we look forward to welcoming enthusiastic and dynamic social work professionals.

Norfolk is a fantastic place to live and work. You will be based in Great Yarmouth and work within our North, East and Great Yarmouth area. We are a hybrid service although have mandatory office days and encourage teams and workers to meet regularly in office spaces which are hybrid friendly. Therefore, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
