Are you an experienced children’s services professional ready to lead, inspire and make a lasting difference to young people’s lives?

Norfolk County Council is looking for a Team Manager (Supported Accommodation) to lead and develop our supported accommodation provision for young people aged 16–18, care leavers, and 18+ unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.

About the Role

As Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership and professional oversight of the service, with specific responsibilities for a group of homes, ensuring high-quality, child-centred practice that delivers positive outcomes for young people. You will be part of a management team that travels between homes and therefore daily access to a vehicle and full driving licence are required.

You will:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a skilled workforce, providing high-quality supervision, appraisal and reflective practice
  • Ensure services meet statutory requirements and maintain positive Ofsted outcomes
  • Champion excellent safeguarding practice and the Signs of Safety approach
  • Drive service improvement through quality assurance, performance management and partnership working
  • Manage budgets and contribute to countywide service planning and development
  • Create environments where young people feel safe, supported and empowered to achieve their potential

This is a varied and rewarding management role requiring flexibility, creativity and resilience. You will take part in an on-call rota and may be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About You

We are looking for a confident and values-driven leader who brings:

  • A relevant professional qualification (or equivalent experience) and Level 5 Management qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • Significant experience working with children and young people, including staff and budget management
  • Strong knowledge of children’s legislation, supported accommodation regulations, and safeguarding frameworks
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage complexity and make sound decisions under pressure
  • A commitment to reflective, child-centred and proportionate practice
  • Experience managing supported accommodation or Ofsted-regulated provision is desirable.
