Join the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), a dynamic, community-based team located in North or North West regions of Tasmania. Our multidisciplinary team delivers compassionate, person-centred mental health care through both in-community and outreach services. We work closely with individuals, their families, and both formal and informal support networks to help older people live their best lives.

The Role:

• Provides contemporary leadership to the OPMHS South or North /North West Community Teams.
• Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education (including internal and external, staff, community partners and family and friends), and allied health or nursing research functions within the Community Teams.
• In partnership with the Older Persons Mental Health Service leadership team, leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material, and financial resources for service delivery within the Community Team/s.
• In partnership with the Older Persons Mental Health Service leadership team, determines appropriate key performance indicators, and priorities and use of resources for service delivery and outcomes that are in accordance with the business unit’s strategic and operational plans.

You will need:

• Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in Older Persons Mental Health Services or in a relevant transferable practice area.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Location:

This role is based in the North or North West of Tasmania, with travel across the region as required.

Position Features:

• Participates in an on-call roster.

Salary: $135,002 to $138,296 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances:

• Please note that access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.

Benefits available to eligible candidates:

• Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.
• Current Driver’s Licence.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

• Completion or progression towards the completion of a post graduate qualification relevant to the position.
