Team Leader - Underground Platinum Mining

• Location: Rustenburg & surrounding platinum operations
• Type: Permanent | Full-time
• Salary: R40,000 R55,000 per month

This is your chance to step into a leadership position at the heart of one of South Africas most critical industries. As a Team Leader, youll guide a skilled crew underground, ensuring safe, efficient, and productive operations that make a real impact.

• Lead and motivate an underground mining team across drilling, blasting, loading, and support activities
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and keep production on schedule
• Enforce Mine Health & Safety Act standards and company procedures daily
• Conduct risk assessments, safety briefings, and incident follow-ups
• Liaise with technical services (geology, ventilation, rock engineering) to ensure compliance and quality
• Keep detailed records: shift reports, KPIs, and handovers
• Train, coach, and build competence within your team

Requirements:

• Competent A & B Certificates (non-negotiable)
• Valid Blasting Ticket for scheduled mines
• Minimum 3 years experience in hard-rock underground mining (preferably platinum)
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a high-pressure environment
• Sound knowledge of mining cycles, stope compliance, and dilution control
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid drivers license & First Aid certificate
