Plays a key role in programming and executing complex mold repairs, modifications, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure molds operate optimally and consistently produce high-quality products.
Responsible for standard operating procedures, production performance, safety, quality control, cost management, delivery compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Tool Room department.
Provides mold support to all operational areas and supervises assigned team members.
Ensures proper operation and maintenance of molds.
Job Duties and General Responsibilities
• Plan and oversee all activities associated with assigned team members.
• Maintain equipment efficiencies through maintenance best practices, workforce planning, and operational flexibility.
• Troubleshoot and repair molds.
• Install, start up, and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures (hot runner systems, ovens, tempering/annealing equipment).
• Maintain required maintenance and performance records.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities.
• Train and assist technical team members.
• Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment (5S).
• Participate in long-term planning for major projects, equipment installation, and facility improvements.
• Define methods to measure, control, and improve downtime across business units (TIERs).
• Plan and control overtime for assigned areas.
• Contact suppliers for repair quotations, spare parts, services, and technology improvements.
• Participate in safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate and develop career plans for supervised staff.
• Schedule and control maintenance expenses.
• Program mold preventive maintenance plans.
• Plan and execute daily mold repair plans based on priorities.
• Prepare reports and performance graphs as required.
• Manage mold and tooling inventory and storage conditions.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Technical degree in Electromechanics or equivalent (desirable).
Experience:
5 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of injection and blow molds.
1–3 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership capability.
Experience operating conventional machinery (lathe, milling machine).
Experience operating CNC machinery (lathe, milling machine).
Experience operating grinding machines.
Experience in welding processes (MIG, TIG, Laser).
Languages:
Intermediate English (must be able to read instructions).
