About the role

Capability Clinical Services provides professional,
client centred, trauma informed and compassionate support for children, young
people, and adults. Clinical Services offers face to face and telehealth
counselling and psychological interventions, assessments and Positive Behaviour
Support (PBS).


Reporting to the Lead Practitioner Therapeutic Residential Care and
working within the Capability Clinical Governance Framework, the Team Leader
Therapeutic Residential Care
provides senior clinical leadership within
therapeutic residential care placements. The role leads and supports
therapeutic specialists working in residential care, oversees therapeutic
quality and clinical decision-making, and contributes to the management of
complex and high-risk presentations. The Team Leader bridges clinical and operational
practice, ensuring therapeutic guidance is translated into daily care and
support for children and young people. Working in close partnership with the
Operations Manager, the role ensures trauma-informed, therapeutically aligned
care is consistently embedded across residential environments.

Duties
& Responsibilities

·Provide clinical leadership to ensure
ethical, evidence‑based, trauma‑informed care
across therapeutic residential services.

·Lead and support therapeutic
specialists through supervision, reflective practice, and workforce capability
development.

·Partner closely with the Operational
Manager to align therapeutic intent with daily care delivery and operational
practice and facilitate regular staff reflection sessions.

·Provide clinical oversight of support
planning, risk management, and responses to complex or high‑risk
presentations.

·Contribute clinical
expertise to incidents, governance processes, statutory engagement, and child
safety reporting.

·Promote consistent, culturally safe,
child‑centred practice and continuous quality improvement
across services.

Key Requirements

Essential:

·Relevant tertiary qualifications and
professional registration.

·Exemplify and model integrity,
ethics, values and the desired cultural behaviours

·Experience in trauma and therapeutic
residential care.

·Operates well in diverse environments
in school and residential settings

·Thrives on independence, innovation
and system improvement

·Demonstrated senior clinical
leadership and supervision experience

·Strong expertise in trauma,
attachment, and therapeutic residential care

·Ability to translate clinical models
into practical, daily care guidance

·High‑level
communication and collaboration skills

·Enjoys mentoring others and being a
key player in a collegiate team

·Communicate complex matters with
clarity and succinctness and in easy-to-understand formats and communication
methods

·Current Working with Vulnerable
People registration, including NDIS screening, or capacity to gain this

·Current CYF clearance, or capacity to
gain this

·Current Police Check, or capacity to
achieve this

·Current driver's license

·Roadworthy, registered and insured
vehicle

Highly desirable:

·Is keen to lead and shape our
therapeutic residential care service and dedicated to making a difference in
peoples' lives through the provision of high-quality clinical services

·Committed to identifying and
harnessing opportunities and continuous improvement

·Current First Aid and CPR
certification

·Willingness to work flexibly across
residential sites.
