AIC Phil LLCThe Team Leader – System Admin, will be responsible for leading and managing a diverse team of system administrators. The role will encompass overseeing the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, particularly Windows and Linux-based domain environments. They will also be tasked with ensuring the optimal functioning of backup systems, managing virtual environments using VMware ESXI and vCenter, administering Linux servers, and overseeing the integration and maintenance of Microsoft 365 and cloud systems via AWS and Azure. Their leadership will be instrumental in ensuring system efficiency, security and the seamless execution of IT Operations across the organization.

This role will involve mentoring and coaching junior members in the Information Technology team by teaching them the rudiments of the job, assigning tasks to them and evaluating their performance to determine their level of learning.

What You'll Do:

System Administration

  • Administer and maintain a Windows and Linux based domain environment, ensuring system security and stability
  • Manage Linux server environments, ensuring efficient operations and integration with other systems
  • Virtualization and Cloud Management
  • Oversee VMware ESXi and vCenter operations and integration with other systems
  • Manage cloud-based services and infrastructure on AWS and Azure, ensuring effective integration with on-site systems
  • Administer Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication across the organization
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Implement and oversee backup systems, ensuring data integrity and availability
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for critical IT systems

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of system administrators, setting goals, conducting performance reviews and facilitating professional development
  • Coordinate with various departments to align on IT infrastructure with organizational needs and projects
  • Security and Compliance
  • Ensure system compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
  • Proactively manage security measures to safeguard systems against threats and vulnerabilities
  • Troubleshooting and Support
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting, resolving complex system issues
  • Implement proactive measures to prevent system failures and downtimes
  • Technology Upgrades and Projects
  • Plan and execute technology upgrades and migrations
  • Lead IT Projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Vendor Management, Documentation and Reporting
  • Liase with external vendors for system support, upgrades, and procurement
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare and present reports on system performance, projects, and IT infrastructure
