Embark on a journey in the Finance SBU within our Procurement BU, which plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic sourcing, category management, procurement operations, contract governance, and supplier management activities across the organisation.

Job vacancy: Team Leader – Sourcing and Procurement

As a Team Leader – Sourcing and Procurement, you will lead procurement operations, strategic sourcing, category management, and contract management activities to ensure the cost-effective, compliant, and timely acquisition of goods and services. You will be responsible for driving procurement performance, delivering commercial value, strengthening supplier and stakeholder relationships, supporting third-party risk management, and providing leadership to the procurement team while ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.

In this role you will,

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle, ensuring effective, compliant, and value-driven service delivery;
  • Provide operational leadership to support business requirements and enhance stakeholder experience;
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, category management activities, and commercial negotiations to deliver cost optimisation, risk mitigation, and sustainable value;
  • Partner with Business Units, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other key stakeholders to ensure robust contract governance and commercial outcomes;
  • Oversee supplier onboarding, due diligence, performance management, and third-party risk assessments in line with regulatory and internal requirements;
  • Foster strong supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement and value creation;
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, delegated authority frameworks, and ethical sourcing standards;
  • Support audit readiness, third-party governance, and the effective management of procurement risks and policy exceptions;
  • Leverage procurement systems and reporting tools to monitor performance, maintain data integrity, and enhance spend visibility;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote procurement best practices across the organisation;
  • Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members while fostering a high-performance culture;
  • Act as a trusted procurement advisor to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between procurement strategy, governance requirements, and business objectives.


We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Law, or a related field;
  • A minimum of 8 years' progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, contract management, supplier governance, or procurement operations within banking, financial services, regulatory environments, audit, consulting, financial advisory, or similarly regulated sectors;
  • Proven experience leading, managing, and developing procurement, sourcing, or category management teams, including responsibility for performance management, coaching, and stakeholder engagement;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, contract lifecycle management, and stakeholder engagement;
  • Strong knowledge of procurement governance, third-party risk management, supplier due diligence processes, and contract management practices;
  • Sound understanding of regulatory expectations applicable to financial institutions, including audit, risk, compliance, confidentiality, and outsourcing governance requirements.


Candidates who have the below experiences & professional qualifications will also be considered:

  • Support procurement transformation initiatives through process optimisation, digital enablement, data-driven decision making, and adoption of best-in-class procurement practices;
  • A professional procurement qualification such as CIPS/MCIPS or equivalent


To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Providing leadership, coaching, and direction to develop high-performing teams and deliver procurement objectives;
  • Leading procurement operations, strategic sourcing, category management, and commercial negotiations to deliver value and manage risk;
  • Analysing complex commercial, operational, and market information to support sound decision-making and business outcomes;
  • Building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to achieve desired outcomes;
  • Applying financial, commercial, and risk management acumen to optimise costs, maximise value, and support strategic objectives;
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards;
  • Managing supplier performance, contractual obligations, and third-party risks within a regulated environment;
  • Demonstrating strong communication and change management capabilities to influence behaviours, drive adoption of procurement best practices, and support organisational transformation;
  • Driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and procurement best practices while demonstrating sound judgement and accountability.
