Birkenhead Pool & Leisure Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Recreation & Fitness to grow their leadership skills while helping deliver fun, engaging, and meaningful programmes for our local community.
As Team Leader Recreation & Fitness at Birkenhead Pool and Leisure Centre, this role is about leading people first. You’ll be responsible for empowering a team of passionate Fitness Instructors and recreation staff who love engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and supporting them to stay active, healthy, and connected to their community.
You will also support on delivering a wide range of community fitness and school holiday programmes for schools and community groups. Based at our leisure centre, the role also contributes to programme delivery with responsibilities spanning Indoor Rock Wall operations, Holiday Programmes, and Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC).
Moreover, you will provide support across the team, contributing to a positive, inclusive, and energetic environment for both staff and customers and play a key role in shaping and improving our programmes, contributing ideas and supporting the delivery of high‑quality experiences that encourage participation, wellbeing, and connection within our communities.

This is a fixed-term, full‑time position, working 40 hours per week until April 2027. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires the ability to work early mornings, late finishes, and weekends.
During school holidays and our summer Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) operations, the roster may change to Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Salary rate: $76,160
