Working under direction of the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Team Leader supports the plant quality function by supervising quality control staff in the implementation of TPI’s quality policy, procedures, and inspection plans and coordinating and communication quality related matters with other functions in his/her shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead quality inspectors for day-to-day activity in his/her shift
• Cover quality inspectors in his/her shift during PTO, sick leave etc.
• Ensure inspections checks are completed and documented
• Assist in internal audits. Layered Process Audits and Product Audits
• Give training on quality alerts on the floor and make sure that all team is get trained for any actions assigned.
• Trains team members on quality inspections on job training.
• Coordinates quality related matters with other departments, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement in the process
• Train the associates in his/her shifts related topic and required skill level
• Ability to maintain excellent attendance record.
• Responsible for Quality KPI targets (defects, COPQ,etc) of the inspector teams
• Perform other duties (Crawler inspection, firewall inspection, incoming receiving, laboratory (run a Tg and fwf testing)) as required for his/her supervisor and quality management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Lead a team of quality inspectors directly. Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of quality inspector team. Assist his/her supervisor for supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education/ Skills/ Experience:
• Associate degree, and; at least 5 years of manufacturing experience; at least 2 years of quality inspection experience; at least 1 year of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Formal training in the field of quality (ISO, TQM, Auditing) and business management.
• Ability to interpret basics of engineering drawings and specifications
• Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, with people at all levels.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Physical Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to be on the factory floor for long periods of time, working across all shifts.
• Stamina to work 50+ hours / week to support plant performance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
