In Tubize, you will join more than 250 colleagues recognized by domestic and international partners for expertise on products such as Radio Frequency (RF) Products, C4ISR, Crypto Global Solution, MACS (Aeronautical Intercom) and many others.

Your mission

Thales Belgium Technical Design Office department is responsible for the design and the development of hardware products for both Military and Civil applications incorporating mechanical design, PCB layout, components selection and prototypes manufacturing. The discipline is also responsible for the technical support of the production activities located on Tubize and Peutie sites. The department is currently looking for a Team Leader Prototypes for products development and manufacturing activities.

We are looking for a versatile Team Leader Prototypes to supervise and coordinate manufacturing activities, including mechanical assembly, PCB mounting, harness manufacturing, and subcontractor management. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement, quality standards compliance, and inventory control.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prototype Production supervision
    • Organize, plan, and oversee activities such as:
      • Electrical harnesses manufacturing, testing and installation
      • Mechanical assembly
      • PCB assembly and soldering (SMD & Through holes)
    • Ensure compliance with deadlines, quality standards and manufacturing targets
  • Team management
    • Lead, train, and motivate a team of multi-skilled operators
    • Allocate tasks based on skills, including ramp-up
    • Provide weekly reporting and escalate technical and human-related issues
    • Promote the feedback loop between designers and operators to improve manufacturability
    • Collaborate effectively with other team leaders and team members
  • Subcontractor follow up
    • Coordinate outsourced activities (make or buy decision)
    • Control the delivery and quality of deliverables
    • Maintain effective communication with external partners
  • Continuous improvement
    • Actively participate in the implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement initiatives (5S, VSM, Kaizen…)
    • Identify opportunities to optimize manufacturing and internal processes
    • Ensure compliance with standards (ISO, IPC…)
  • Inventory and logistics management
    • Monitor consumption of components
    • Contribute to reduce waste and avoid stock piling & shortage

We are looking forward to

  • Education
    • Master or Bachelor in electronics or mechanics, or equivalent through experience
  • Knowledge and experience
    • Min 10 years of experience in a similar position
    • MS Excel mandatory
    • Strong knowledge of French and English.
    • Experience in mechanical or harnesses manufacturing
    • Knowledge in IPC610/620 Standards is a plus
    • Experience in military sector in a plus
  • Soft skills
    • Autonomy, sense of initiative and leadership
    • Rigorousness, commitment and accountability, ability to take and meet commitments
    • Team spirit, listening and communication skills
