Role purpose

We're seeking a talented scientist, whether you are a recent PhD graduate or seasoned industry expert, to join our Process Research Chemistry Team within Crop Protection Research in Stein. As a technical leader, you'll combine your expertise in synthesis with developing a high-performing, safety-conscious, and collaborative team culture. You will partner across functions and cultures to ensure successful project delivery and drive continuous capability development. We value resourceful scientists who bring innovative approaches to technical challenges and can help shape the future of crop protection solutions.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and support the growth of team member(s), fostering excellence in process research
  • Drive technical excellence in synthesis and process chemistry projects
  • Drive innovation in working methods and technical capabilities
  • Ensure highest standards of laboratory safety and HSE compliance
  • Foster collaboration across teams and act as a catalyst for strong community building
  • Maintain high documentation standards for synthesis data reporting

Qualifications

  • Excellence in synthesis or process technology; whether you have 5+ years of industry experience or are transitioning from a PhD/Postdoc program with a strong research record, we value the unique perspective you bring
  • A proactive digital mindset, with experience using digital or modelling tools to enhance technical analysis and decision-making being highly valued
  • Demonstrated ability to apply physical organic chemistry principles to solve synthetic challenges is highly valued
  • Scientific experience with proven high performance in synthesis in academia or industry, demonstrated by a strong record of publications, patents or scientific talks
  • Education: PhD in Organic Chemistry is required, with postdoctoral and/or industrial experience as an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively participate in scientific collaborations, fostering productive teamwork in technical environments
  • Forward-thinking mindset with a proactive approach to emerging trends and technologies in the field, coupled with strong self-motivation and initiative in project execution and personal growth.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
