Team Leader, Corrections Corporate Support Unit

LocationParramatta, Sydney

Employment type – Ongoing – Full time

Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8, $113,574 - $125,720 (plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)

Your role

Lead a team of Senior Administration Officers and Administration Officers within Corrections Corporate Support Unit to provide accurate and timely administrative services to support the CSNSW Inmate Location Line, and management of Ministerial and other correspondence.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and develop team members to ensure expertise, sound decision making, compliance with legislation and policy and timely service delivery.
  • Plan and co-ordinate resources to meet service delivery requirements and ensure an equitable workload allocation.
  • Develop and maintain effective systems, processes, and procedures in line with legislative and policy requirements for effective operation of Corrections Corporate Support Unit including electronic templates and information sharing guidelines.
  • Review, edit and provide feedback on a range of written material including Briefing Notes, submissions, reports, and specialist correspondence on topics such as inmate/offender jurisdictional transfers and change of name applications to ensure accuracy and in line with the relevant legislation for progression.
  • Ability to interpret and assist direct reports in understanding applicable legislation
  • Ensure effective communication networks are maintained with key stakeholders, including other government and non-government agencies, interstate, and Federal authorities by providing prompt detailed advice, resolving escalated enquiries in a timely and professional manner consistent with information sharing principles.
  • Support the Manager with human resource matters including promotion of a positive workplace culture and safe working environment.
  • Support implementation of new information technology and changes in business processes.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven capability in managing frontline service teams of small to medium size
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to balance competing demands while still providing quality, accurate and timely administrative services in a pressured / high-volume front line business unit.
  • The ability to meet operational and customer needs and expectations while complying with privacy and other legislative restrictions.
  • Leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive a vehicle while performing the role and travel to meet operational needs.
