Job Description

This is a role with real impact. As Team Leader Compliance, you’ll lead the delivery of compliance across our water supply, stormwater, and wastewater services ensuring we meet our obligations while protecting the environment we all rely on.

You’ll bring together technical expertise and people leadership, guiding a capable team while working closely with regulators, mana whenua, and internal stakeholders. It’s about setting clear direction, building trust, and making sure we’re not just meeting requirements but doing the right thing for our community.

Te Āheinga - The Opportunity

  • Lead compliance across water services, ensuring consent, bylaw, and legislative obligations are met

  • Provide environmental expertise and technical oversight to support strong decision-making

  • Oversee monitoring, data, and reporting to ensure accurate and timely compliance outcomes

  • Support consent processes and keep the organisation ready for regulatory change

  • Lead enforcement and respond to environmental incidents when required

  • Build trusted relationships with regulators, mana whenua, and key stakeholders

This is a 13-month fixed term, full time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based in Napier. Ideally the successful appointee will commence mahi in June.

The annual salary package for this role is $105,714-$124,300 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
