We're currently looking for a Team Leader to join our Hunter Region team. This is an opportunity to lead and mentor a team of Therapeutic Support Workers, while supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes through therapeutic, person-centred care.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you'll provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to a team of Therapeutic Support Workers while ensuring high-quality, therapeutic care is delivered to children and young people.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of children and young people.
  • Leading, coaching and supporting a team of Therapeutic Support Workers.
  • Coordinating therapeutic supports and ensuring services are tailored to each child's individual needs.
  • Promoting and modelling Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles in everyday practice.
  • Building positive, professional relationships with children, young people, families and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely and professional documentation, case notes and reporting.
  • Coordinating case management responsibilities in line with legislation, OCG Standards and organisational policies.
  • Facilitating case conferences, reviews and stakeholder meetings.
  • Managing concerns or complaints respectfully and in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with the Program Manager to monitor service delivery, outcomes and compliance.
  • Participating in the on-call roster as required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people and enjoys leading and developing others.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • A relevant qualification (or be working towards one) in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or supervising staff, or the demonstrated capability to step into a leadership role.
  • Experience working with children, young people and families in the community services sector.
  • A current paid NSW Working with Children Check.
  • A current National Criminal History Check.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • A current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
