The Regulatory and Identity Services branch is responsible for regulatory systems and functions related to charities, gambling, anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), digital safety, passports, civil registries, citizenship and identity management. The branch also delivers identity products and services that enable customers to register their life events, access services from other public and private sector agencies and businesses, and travel seamlessly overseas. The branch has programmes of work and support functions that include data analysis and insights, information sharing, forecasting, systems, service design, risk and assurance, intelligence and investigations, engagement and education, operational policy, product innovation, international product strategy and commercial.
The Team Leader Capability and Charities Support is an exciting and important role within Charities Service’s regulatory system. Your leadership will help charities meet the requirements of the Charities Act, enabling and ensuring compliance to build public trust and confidence in the charitable sector
In this position, you will lead the delivery of education, information and assistance that enables charities to understand and meet their regulatory requirements. This includes building sector capability and managing assistance to individual charities in response to enquiries. You will also manage the Charities Register and delegated regulatory functions, including issuing of regulatory notices and removals from the register.
This role involves developing tools, guidance and initiatives that support compliance with the Charities Act and identifying improvements to processes to maintain timeliness and consistency.
We are looking for candidates who can lead a comprehensive programme of work, set expectations and support the team to deliver. You will maintain quality and best practice across all regulatory functions of the team and contribute to effective regulation and regulatory decisions.
