Position: Team Leader – Genset Testing

Department: Production / Testing

Location: Ch. Sambhajinagar

Reporting To: Production Manager

Years of Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Diesel Generator (DG) Set Testing, Production, or Manufacturing Operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leading a team in testing or assembly operations.

Education Qualification:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Must Have Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in DG Set Testing from 15 kVA to 2500 kVA capacity.
  • Sound knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, AVR systems, control panels, AMF panels, and synchronization systems.
  • Ability to conduct routine, load bank, endurance, and performance testing of gensets.
  • Strong understanding of electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, power factor, and load distribution.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control system issues during testing.
  • Experience in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings.
  • Familiarity with quality standards, testing procedures, and customer inspection requirements.
  • Knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices during testing operations.
  • Strong leadership, manpower handling, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the genset testing team to achieve daily production targets.
  • Ensure all DG sets are tested as per standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
  • Monitor testing activities, analyze failures, and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards during testing operations.
  • Maintain testing reports, quality records, and inspection documentation.
  • Manage manpower allocation, shift planning, and skill development of team members.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and problem-solving tools (Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, etc.).
