Job Description

Accordia Care is looking for a committed and collaborative Team Leader for a supported living service in Epsom, Surrey. This role entails supporting and assisting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring that high standards of care and support are maintained.

Working within Health & Social Care can sometimes be high-pressure and unpredictable. There are times when the individuals that we support will be in crisis. About You:

We are looking for a motivated & caring individual who would like a rewarding role within a supported living service that really makes a difference.

As a Team Leader, you will join our team supporting service users in their homes. Accordia staff benefit from great career progression, sector-leading professional training and great job stability.

We specialise in providing person-centred care for adults with a forensic mental health background, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and autism to enable them to play a meaningful role within their community. You will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding care to the people we support.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with people with mental health issues, autism, challenging behaviours and learning disabilities
  • Experience of using restraint techniques
  • Ability to work alone with confidence and be part of a wider team
  • Strong ethical values and a person-centred approach
  • Flexibility & ability to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
  • Enthusiasm, resilience, confidence, high-energy and a proactive approach to providing exceptional person-centred support & overcoming challenges
  • The ability to motivate, guide & nurture a small team of support workers
  • A commitment to personal and professional development
  • The ability to understand the people you are supporting and demonstrate empathy for them
  • Genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism
  • Willingness to work with people who present with challenging and, in some cases, risky behaviour
  • You must live within commutable distance of Epsom
  • You must have a full, clean, valid driving licence and your own vehicle due to the service's location with limited public transport links

Desirable

  • Experience supporting service users with epilepsy and administering Buccal Midazolam is highly desirable (training will be provided)
  • Experience working with either forensic mental health issues, supported living or in a residential setting
  • Substantial experience as a Team Leader or Key Worker
  • An NVQ qualification in social care or a Care Certificate

Pay: £14.21p per hour (equating to £35,468 per annum); with an overtime rate of £14.71p per hour

Hours: 48 hours per week (based on 12-hour shifts)

Sponsorship:

· We may be able to offer Tier 2 Sponsorship for this role. To qualify, candidates must already live within the local area of our Accordia Supported Living Service.
