In this role, you'll:

  • Hold responsibility for the planning and allocation of work packages to the Track & Structures frontline team, tracking completed work and ensuring the quality of maintenance is to agreed standards.
  • Provide frontline technical support, mentoring and development of technical competency, and assist the Team Manager in driving KPIs and change initiatives.
  • Provide safety advice and support to the Work Groups, including coordination of defect management, while escalating any potential high-risk issues to the Team Manager.
  • Leading a team of 10 plus staff with work group leaders to support you
  • Requirement to support the Team after hours and be on call.

This is a full time on site role based at Hamilton Depot.

About you

  • You will be assessed and competent to level 3.1 or above (Sydney Trains internals) with significant experience in rail network maintenance. For people applying outside the business you will require a Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure
  • Ideally, you will have obtained the 4 track core competencies: Patrol Track, Examine Track, Certify Track, and Certify Turnouts.
  • You have demonstrated leadership or management experience within rail track infrastructure.
  • Experience in data management and using online systems like SAP or Eclipse
  • Ideally, you hold a Protection Officer level 2 or are willing to obtain it within 6 months.
  • You must hold a current NSW Class C driver's licence and be comfortable driving a 4WD/UTE-type vehicle. Additionally, it would be preferable that you hold a current HR licence or are willing to obtain it within 6 months.
