TEAM LEADER

RIVERSIDE DISTRIBUTION CENTER – BELCAMP, MD

COTY is looking for smart leaders who are fast and passionate.

The 1st shift Team Leader is responsible for delivering operational measures (Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost) and people management responsibilities. This person has direct leadership responsibility for the 1st shift operation. Delivering critical measures of throughput/productivity, service, quality, safety and people responsibilities. This person will work closely with and have a direct reporting relationship to the Senior Manager.

THE ROLE

In this role you will be responsible for:

Leadership

  • Leads by example and demonstrates high standards in all key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Owns the team DDS process, ensures information is communicated, training occurs, and meetings begin and end on time.
  • Will lead a team of 20-plus employees including Coty and contractors.
  • Facilitates constructive resolution of issues within shift and other departments.
  • Ensures company policy and standards are met, and effectively uses performance management tools as needed.
  • Resolves issues within the team in accordance with COTY Values.
  • Communicates and executes proper escalation process for all help requests when/before issues arise.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

Results and Actions Accountability

  • Accountability for the team results, appearance of core area, and actions of team members.
  • Team leader holds team members accountable by:
    • Setting/clarifying expectations.
    • Providing feedback/clarifying repercussions.
    • Providing positive reinforcement to encourage empowerment.
    • Collaborating with the Logistics Leader on the execution of behavior modification.
  • Productivity
    • Creates and executes launching strategy.
    • Manage production schedule for Customization 2nd shift
    • Communicates upcoming orders with the line (FC)
    • Monitors line productivity (AZ).
    • Monitors visualization screens (FC).
    • Understands basic allocation knowledge (FC)..
    • Understands full replenishment process (FC).
    • Understand production needs and expectations (AZ)
    • Understand production quality standards and execute them (AZ).

Technical and Decision Making

  • Utilizes technology (TOPS/WMS) and interfaces knowledge to enable effective planning, analysis, problem identification, and resolution.
  • Analyzes complex data, develops clear problem statement, identifies root cause, and develops/executes clear action plan to address issues.
    • Utilizes Principle Based Decision Making Principles. UPS Tools (Why/Why’s, 6W2H, etc.)
      • Review Boundaries
      • Gather Input
      • Reach Consensus when Possible
      • Make Decision
  • Strong system skills including troubleshooting and the ability to quickly learn and grasp complex system functionalities.
  • Communicates and executes proper escalation with Systems, Allocation and Technical Teams if unable to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for downtime resolution. Start to finish.

Coordination/Administrative/Team Staffing

  • Coordinate run strategy based on capacity. Create 5–10-day outlook.
  • Point of contact for the Each Pick team to resources outside of the team.
    • HSE (Safety)
    • QA (Quality)
    • S&R/Full Case/Retail
    • Systems/Planning/Allocation
  • Responsibility for inputting and having the ability to discuss previous day’s results and upcoming daily/weekly plans. (DDS Communication). Sends daily EOS results.
    • (ie: ID root cause for gaps. Ensure proper escalation.
  • Ensures daily appropriate staffing. Communicates needs to Logistics Manager. (FTTW).
  • Ensures effective shift to shift communication.
  • Approve Time off for Coty and Talent. Approve Payroll for Talent.

People Development:

  • Builds team capability.
  • Creates and executes team rotation schedule.
  • Provides coaching and support to team members.
  • Supports the Functional Leaders (FLs) and provides sufficient off-line time to meet FL needs (SFL’s, QFL’s and MFL’s).
  • Supports the QFL’s to update/complete new Work Processes.
  • Participates in quarterly 1:1s with team members as needed.
  • MyGPS input with Logistics Manager
  • Coaches team members on giving and receiving feedback and conflict resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS

We’d love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college education preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in a fast‑paced operations, logistics, or fulfillment environment
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, coaching, and performance management aligned with company values
  • Experience managing production schedules, workflow planning, or shift operations
  • Ability to monitor productivity metrics and take corrective action to close performance gaps
  • Proficiency with warehouse or fulfillment systems (WMS, TOPS, or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with structured decision‑making tools (Why/Why’s, 6W2H, or similar methodologies)
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and follow through

Desirable:

  • Experience with SAP
