We are hiring a new Team Leader for the Helen Vine Recovery Center, a 30-bed, co-ed, clinically managed (non-medical) residential detox and substance use treatment program in Marin County. As the Team Leader, you will oversee the daily operations, administration, and staff coordination in the program. You will support the implementation of the program in alignment with approved contracts and budgets while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This is a full-time swing shift position, working onsite Wednesday - Sunday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Responsibilities
Maintain and manage data within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; generate reports and ensure documentation accuracy.
Support program management in daily facility operations including staffing and program goal alignment.
Assist with financial oversight; monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to budget and financial controls.
Support both clinical and administrative documentation processes.
Review and ensure accuracy of staff timecards for processing.
Staff Management
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and supervising staff and volunteers (where applicable).
Provide leadership through team oversight, corrective action plans, and regular performance evaluations.
Support schedule planning and participate in the on-call rotation.
Facilitate weekly team, individual, and all-staff meetings.
Monitor staff productivity and adherence to agency billing standards.
Clinical Duties
Assist in managing referrals, intakes, and discharges.
Guide staff in developing and implementing client treatment plans using psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
Meet monthly documentation standards and maintain timely progress notes in EHR systems.
Deliver case management services including care coordination, treatment planning, family/provider engagement, and referral management.
Provide crisis intervention and management as needed.
Conduct periodic audits of client charts and ensure ongoing compliance with HIPAA, Medi-Cal, and contractual standards.
Identify and connect clients with community resources to enhance their program experience.
Program Quality and Compliance
Ensure services meet clinical and operational standards, including DHCS and Medi-Cal documentation guidelines.
Maintain compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual standards, including CARF, etc.
Support adherence to health and safety regulations and policies.
Participate in internal and external audits and chart reviews.
Facility and Housing (If Applicable)
Assist in obtaining and maintaining safe and sanitary housing according to local housing authority and fire district regulations.
Conduct regular housing inspections and follow up on maintenance needs and vendor coordination.
Support positive relationships with landlords, owners, and neighborhoods.
Ensure facilities are in compliance with Medi-Cal, DHCS, and CCL standards.
Education and Experience
Education requirements:
Associate’s degree in social services/psychology with 6 years of relevant experience
OR Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience
OR Master’s degree with 2 years of experience
Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use preferred.
Minimum one year of supervisory experience, ideally in a behavioral health setting.
Understanding of family and group dynamics required.
Skills and Abilities
Fluent in English; bilingual/bicultural candidates preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with professionalism and good judgment.
Demonstrated interest in working with individuals with behavioral health disabilities.
Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
Skilled in database management and navigating multiple EHR systems.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Positive team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
Valid California driver’s license, insurable driving record, and a personal vehicle with current insurance required.
Physical Requirements
Intermittent Activities: Stretching, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting up to 30 lbs.
Extended Activities: Driving, standing, sitting, typing, writing.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this position are required to maintain current certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor through CADTP, CCAPP, or another state-approved provider. Loss of certification will result in disqualification from continued employment in this role.
