Job Description

Location: 1257 Ogden Avenue

The team leader is responsible forindividualneedsassessmentanddevelopingshort and long term goals. The Youth Worker is also responsible for the overall planning and monitoring of the Youth Council and Participant recruitment.

Responsibilities:

• Conductinitialneedsassessment,intakeandorientationofnew participants.
• Createshort - and long-termgoalsforparticipantsbasedontheneedsassessment.
• Maintain teen participant foldersand application.
• DevelopandimplementlessonplansforYouthCouncilandyouthleadershipactivitiesand specialinitiatives.
• Collect participant's report cards to monitor their educational progress and keep trackof youth academiclife.
• Monitorandtrackparticipantattendanceandconductoutreachtosupport retention.
• Assist with the recruitment of teen participants.
• Co-facilitate ParentMeetings
• Responsible for keeping the Program Director and Assistant Director informed ofany changes and abnormalities that mayoccur.
• Submitweekly reportstotheProgramDirectorandAssistantDirectoronatimelybasis.
• Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and specialevents.
• Assist other staff whenneeded.
• Other duties asassigned.

Salary: $18 - $19 per hour or $32,760 or $34,580 annually.

Qualifications:

• MinimumofaHighSchoolDiploma/GED;orworkingtowardsanAAorBAdegree preferred.
• 2 years Youth Workerexperience.
• Experiencefacilitatingworkshopsandprovidingoneononepeermediationpreferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively withteams.
• Demonstratedabilitytoworkwithfamilieswhofaceexceptionalchallenges.
• Excellentsocialskillsdemonstrativeofempathyandsupport.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time position. Work hours are as follows: Monday-Friday 6pm-10pm some Saturdays 12am-5pm. Monday - Friday 6pm- l lpm July - August. Travel when taking field trips, using public transportation, traverse city streets, ascend/descendstairs,andbeexposedtooutsideweatherconditions,whileescorting youth.
