We are seeking an experienced Team Lead – Technical Project Management, EMEA to lead a team of Technical Project Managers delivering enterprise software and integration projects across the EMEA and APAC regions.

Responsibilities

This role is focused on people leadership, customer management, portfolio oversight, resource planning, and delivery governance. The Team Lead will coach and develop TPMs, maintain visibility into project health and risks, support challenging customer engagements, and ensure consistent delivery practices across the region.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary EMEA and APAC counterpart to global delivery leadership, providing clear visibility into project status, customer concerns, resource needs, and issues requiring escalation.

This position is based in Porto, Portugal. Below are the responsibilities for the role:

  • Lead, coach, and develop Technical Project Managers, including performance management, career development, and regular feedback.
  • Maintain oversight of EMEA customer projects, including project health, milestones, risks, dependencies, and customer concerns.
  • Serve as a leadership escalation point for complex delivery and customer issues.
  • Join customer engagements when necessary to support TPMs and drive issues toward resolution.
  • Coach TPMs through challenging projects and customer situations while developing greater independence and leadership capability within the team.
  • Manage TPM project assignments, workload, capacity, and resource priorities across the region.
  • Provide regular portfolio updates to global delivery leadership and proactively escalate significant risks or resource constraints.
  • Ensure consistent project governance, status reporting, risk management, escalation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, and other internal teams to resolve cross-functional delivery challenges.
  • Identify recurring delivery challenges and improve project management processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Build a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team culture.

Requirements

  • Proven experience directly managing, coaching, and developing Project Managers, Technical Project Managers, or similar delivery professionals.
  • Strong experience managing enterprise customers, customer expectations, difficult conversations, and escalations.
  • Experience overseeing multiple concurrent enterprise software projects and maintaining portfolio-level visibility into project health and risk.
  • Strong resource management, prioritization, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience delivering enterprise software or technology projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent professional English and German are required.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and customers across the EMEA region.
  • Enterprise integration knowledge, strong working knowledge of REST APIs, system integrations, authentication, and data exchange.
  • Based in or able to work from Porto, Portugal.

The following are some nice to have requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Technical Project Manager, Technical Program Manager, Solutions Architect, Engineer, or similar technical role.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, CRM, or other enterprise systems.
  • Experience working within a global software organization.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum-based software delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Professional proficiency in additional European languages.
